Roma enter race for Franck Kessié as midfield reshuffle looms around El Aynaoui
Multiple outlets report that AS Roma have stepped into the race for free agent Franck Kessié, making initial inquiries and attempting a rapid 'blitz' to overtake Juventus. Reports say coach Gian Piero Gasperini is highly keen on Kessié, who last season made 42 appearances for Al-Ahli (12 goals, 6 assists). At the same time, several sources indicate Neil El Aynaoui has not convinced Gasperini and Roma are open to loaning or selling him, with Crystal Palace reportedly prepared to offer around €30m. Roma are also being linked with other midfield alternatives such as Rios and Diarra as they weigh options.
